Celebrating The Life of John Knowles
This month we are celebrating the life of John Knowles, founder of Marwell Zoo, who lived to a wonderful age of 90. He did an amazing job back in the early 1970’s to bring to the fore the plight of Endangered Species worldwide, introducing breeding programmes aimed at returning animals in danger of extinction to the wild, wherever it was possible. The African Oryx is a great example of his successes.
We think John Knowles would have been very supportive of our mission to bring awareness of these problems to primary school children across the world. Great news this month that we have entries of animals to the Online Bowdleflode Wildlife Park coming from a school in Bosnia Herzogovina and we also have our first fantasy animal entries from Australia!
