The Bowdleflodes become Artsmark Partners

Bowdleflode News No. 11 – April 2019

The Minister visits

We are really delighted to announce that we have a new partnership with Artsmark and Arts Council England. Connected with that, the Minister of Education, the Rt Hon Nick Gibb MP, visited the Bowdleflode Office to see what we do. As Bowdleflode enthusiasts we ask you to help to spread the word about our Artsmark connection and encourage schools and children to take part.

Here is the Minister during his visit with Louise Goldsmith, the leader of West Sussex County Council, in the Bowdleflodes office.

Leading on from the ‘Alice in Wonderland’ like children’s stories we are developing this free, not for profit, Bowdleflode Project which champions cross curricula creative skills in children and combines the importance of both science and art in education. It emphasises the necessity for Creativity and Conservation and champions children’s artistic skills and descriptive writing abilities. The project carefully aligns with the National Curriculum.

As we develop the online Bowdleflode Zoo and display children’s amazing fantasy animals sent in by schools from across the UK and abroad, each child gets their very own webpage and is asked to think about supporting an Endangered Species either in a zoo or through a wildlife organisation.
